Even though I never really heard off him sooner. He was a true hero. He was a amazing actor and a amazing person.
For all the people who call him scum and saying that he did us all a favor by dying.
They truly are the scum and they deserve that fate. Heath Ledger my idol my hero my savior. -

Posted: Jul 19th, 2008 at 10:45 pm6Reply to this comment.I have followed Heath since before I could remember. Thinking back it was when he starred in Sweat, one of his first roles before he came to the United States and glorified us with his amazing talent and beautiful inner and outer being. To this day it is still hard to believe that he is no longer with us. I may not have knew him personally but spiritually I knew everything about this wonderful man. The tears I weep are no longer of sorrow and sadness but of joy and complete happiness of the things he has taught me. He will be missed so much and me heartfelt condolences go out to his family and friends. I know how it feels to lose something so precious and Heathcliff Andrew Ledger was so much more than that. I love you and miss you so much Heath and always will. Your spirit lives on!
I’m not good at future planning. I don’t plan at all. I don’t know what I’m doing tomorrow. I don’t have a day planner and I don’t have a diary. I completely live in the now, not in the past, not in the future.

Posted: Jul 20th, 2008 at 4:29 pm8Reply to this comment.Hey, heres a great idea. Why not award a junkie drug user with a post-humous Oscar? That way, when his children ask what daddy did with his life, aside from getting off his face when away from them, they have a silver lining of an award to put in the place of an absent father. Dont get me wrong, Ledgers performances in The Dark Knight, and Brokeback were a tour de force, am I the only one thinking his selfish behaviour which led to his death, leaving his kids without a dad, should go unrewarded. As a father, my main aim in life is fo my children to view me as someone to look up to as a grounding force in their life. Heaths “untimely” and “tragic” death were brought about from a DRUGS OVERDOSE. Amy Winehouse for President? Pete Doherty for Nobel Peace Prize?

He truly diserves that award! Maybe God made this happen for a reason and I hope it was a good one because I would have liked to see him in another batman movie! My heart goes out to his family and that Heath Ledger may rest in peace!

Posted: Jul 21st, 2008 at 7:11 pm10Reply to this comment.I was truly lost in Heath Ledgers performance as the joker. I wasnt watching the guy with the pretty face from “10things” but i was watching “the Joker”. Just like the idea for the joker was originated from Conrad Veidt in “the man who laughs”, Heath Ledgers performance will inspire many new ideas and hopefully inspire many actors to take it to the next level. and to the person who left the comment titled “the truth” i hope your some sort of detective or have some sort of evidence to assume that heath intentionally took his life. as a father you should know that leaving a comment like the one you did was very disrespectful toward heath and his kid who could one day want to look back at the things papa heath did and see what you wrote. im sure your making your kids proud with that very unnecessary comment. would you want your kids to read that about you? dont add fuel to the fire, be respectful and keep those thought to yourself.

Posted: Jul 22nd, 2008 at 8:07 am12Reply to this comment.Wow. Heath was, and still is, my absoloutely most favorite actor on this planet. He was amazing in acting. It’s almost like Johnny Depp- he can change so many characters and make them all so beleivable without worrying what people will say about him. Take Brokeback Mountain for example. You would think most male actors would never dream of playing a role like he did, but he nailed it and wasn’t judged after it. And in 10 Things I Hate About You, he had an irresistable charm to him, and completely fit the character. And of course, The Dark Knight. He absoloutely NAILED IT. No other actor could have done close to as amazing he did as The Joker, and I’ve got to say, he was much better than Jack Nicholson. Jack was good too, but Heath will go down in history for this role. He’s the villian who makes your skin crawl because he’s so creepy, but you love and want to see more of because he’s exciting and funny, too for his character. I am so pleased that we got to see his last movie, but I’m also sad that he couldn’t live to see it become such a success, and I know he would’ve been proud. This guy has to be the best actor on the face of this planet, and I’m not just saying that. He deserves to be nominated, and win, an award. Or several. So what if only “One person from the grave” has done so? He deserves, more than ANYTHING, to be the second. Spread the word and tell your friends and family to sign the petition. He would be so proud.
Rest in Peace Heath! We all miss you! We’ll all see you when it’s our time. (:

Posted: Jul 22nd, 2008 at 4:51 pm14Reply to this comment.heath was one of the greatest actors i’ve ever seen. he was able to pull off many characters of extremes (like johnny depp). and despite him always feeling that he wasnt matching up to the expectations of everyone else, the truth is, he did, and exceeded them at that. his dedication towards his films touched me so greatly and his endless efforts at perfecting his roles made me see how much he loved his roles. the Joker was the best that he’d ever played and it will be a long time before we can find an actor that good again. His impression of the Joker will become a symbol of his performance and him and how we’ll miss his talents and creations.
you’ll be greatly missed, heath, and loved always.

Posted: Jul 23rd, 2008 at 3:27 am15Reply to this comment.Just so everyone knows. I am a huge Heath fan. I love Heath. The reason he died is not because he is a druggie, it is because for the role of the joker, he had to go days without sleep and since he also filmed a movie after that (The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus due to come out in 2009) he was not getting sleep so he took a few of his prescribed pills and died. It was an accident. So he wasn’t a bad dad and he loved his kids. Heath was a great actor a great dad and wonderful and I truly do miss Heath. I love you, heath!

But I was reading some of the previous comments, and one of them I read and burst into tears. ‘The Truth’ ridiculous, why would you write something like that on the internet? The man is dead, he can no longer speak for himself anymore. It is SO VERY dis-respectful to say things like that about a wonderful person who cannot clear their good name themselves.
I’m sorry if I may have offended some people… but I think Heath Ledger would have appericated the gesture.
May he rest in peice, god rest his soul, and bless his wonderful heart. We all love and miss you, Heath.

Heath Ledger was an extraordinary actor/individual and he will be greatly missed by many. He has touched many lives with his inspiring roles and kindness. I am sad to say that I was not more familiar with his work until the month of his untimely and shocking death, however I do hope that the long time fans along with the recent ones(like myself) will continue to have his memory live on for all time. May he rest in peace. We love you Heath, and you shall never be forgotten. <3

Posted: Jul 24th, 2008 at 10:10 pm21Reply to this comment.I was reading some of the posts & enjoyed reading just how much Heath has inspired others but one posting that was really very disrespectful was the one posted by “The truth”. Its very sad to read those words on a site dedicated to someone’s memory. For you to call yourself “the truth” you obviously don’t know any. Heath did not purposely take his life by overdosing on drugs, he had an accidental drug overdose due to the different prescriptions he was taking for his insomina, depression, and flu illness. He was not a drug addict like Amy & Pete who are choosing to waste their talent by using drugs. He also has only one child (Matilda) not kids as you wrote. So next time you choose to pass judgment & put someone in the same category as Amy Winehouse & Pete Doherty, you might want to brush up on the truth there “Truth”. Why beat someone when they’re down & not here to defend themselves, he was a man & a father just like you so have some respect for his family & especially his daughter and keep your ignorant comments to yourself. Remember if you cant say something nice then keep your mouth shut. I wish his family all the best as they continue to live life without Heath & help raise his daughter without him. One day she will be able to read & see all the good things about her father & I know she will be so proud of all that he accomplished in his short life & know that his greatest accomplishment in life was being her father & he will always be with her in spirit. May God Bless all who were blessed to know this man.

Posted: Jul 30th, 2008 at 9:32 am28Reply to this comment. The truth: “Hey, heres a great idea. Why not award a junkie drug user with a post-humous Oscar?”
Now I’m not one to say that I knew ledger, yes I’m a fan, but I am by no means fanatical, yes I was sad when he died but for the fact that his little girl wouldn’t have her daddy and the world would not be able to have the opportunity to see more of his work. ‘Truth’ don’t get all high and mighty, the reason why ‘the junkie’ would be up for an award is because he deserves it, not because he is dead. I would also suggest to you that you look up the definition of a junkie and hopefully you will realize that Ledger doesn’t fit the bill of that ill title.
“That way, when his children ask what daddy did with his life, aside from getting off his face when away from them, they have a silver lining of an award to put in the place of an absent father.”
I am assuming that you are a fairly regular guy so what you have seen of him you have seen from paparazzi, did you see almost 100% of those photos with Matilda on his shoulders both with the biggest smiles on their faces? Can’t say I saw many of him ‘off his face’ I would love to know where you are getting your material from, could make some excellent money out of it. When she asks what her father did with his life, they will be able to tell her that he made millions of fans happy, award or not. An award would never replace a father, you idiot.
The Truth: “Don’t get me wrong, Ledgers performances in The Dark Knight, and Brokeback were a tour de force, am I the only one thinking his selfish behaviour which led to his death, leaving his kids without a dad, should go unrewarded.”
Ledgers performance in The Dark Knight is being rewarded, not the way he lived his life, re-read what you’re saying, ‘lets punish him because he is dead’. I have gotten you wrong, you idiot.
The Truth: “As a father, my main aim in life is fo my children to view me as someone to look up to as a grounding force in their life. Heaths “untimely” and “tragic” death were brought about from a DRUGS OVERDOSE.”
It is great the you want to be that for your kids but when you die, because perhaps you drove a little too fast around that corner, or walked out on the street at the same moment a bus nails you, would you not like to have someone dedicate a FAN site to you so your kids can go back and see what a wonderful man their father was, wouldn’t it be a pisser if someone you don’t even know got on and ragged on you?
As a helpful hint you should also teach your children not to judge those who you do not know and unless you were there watching him OD on drugs, and saw that it was a deliberate OD, I think the word you are looking for is “accidental” before you say DRUGS OVERDOSE, you idiot. The Truth: “Amy Winehouse for President? Pete Doherty for Nobel Peace Prize?”
When Amy Winehouse does something to deserve to be president, ill vote for her if she is the best candidate.
When Pete Doherty makes an outstanding achievement in physics, chemistry, medicine, literature or guides the world to peace for a nobel prize nomination, if he deserves it, let him have it.When Heath Ledger, gets nominated for an oscar for his role in The Dark Knight, it should be given it to him, SOLELY for the reason that he deserves it, you idiot.

Hey, here’s a great idea :D! ..how about before you start babbling like you actually know something maybe you should do some research. First of all it’s not kids . . its one child, he has left behind a little girl. Second of all who the hell in Gd’s name are you to judge him. From what most us have seen and heard he was an amazing father to his daughter Matilda. Don’t fucking talk about “selfish” behaviour like he committed suicide . . ON PURPOSE to leave his daughter without a father., seriously. What the hell does doing an AMAZING job in portraying a character onscreen have to do with his life off screen? Even if he did use drugs. . .how do you know why he did ? You have not lived his life. . .he was depressed and there were obviously several reasons for that and maybe drugs were his escape out of that…you should be grateful that your not in a position like that to ever have to do that. Wait, wait…here’s another great idea sweetie . . .don’t talk about shit noone asked you about . . mmm as I recall no one cares about what your main aim in life is . .no one cares about your children (gd help them with a father like you) . .yeah your such a GREAT father you go to deceased actors’ websites and write negative paragraphs…maybe you should go play with your kids instead since your such a great father. You pathetic excuse for a man, swallow your jealousy, shut the fuck up, and don’t come back on this site writing negative shit….oh and while your at it…go die, please and thank you.

Please don’t disrespect heath by saying things like he was a junkie and were not trying to get a known drug user like amy winehouse made president we are just trying to honour the memory of an amazing actor by giving him the credit he deserves

I found the comments from The Truth very upsetting. It is tragic enough that such a talented actor and such a beautiful person as Heath should have died in this uneccesary way. It was a tragic mistake. A combination of tiredness from overwork and jet lag, depression at missing Mechelle and Matilda, feeling ill with a bad cold and a inability to relax and sleep. He thought because his pills were prescribed by doctors they would be safe to take.Unfortunately we now know that combination was lethal. He had everything to live for. He loved his daughter, family friends and his work. I cry for him everyday and will never forget him. Think before you speak next time. Get your facts right and stop hurting those who loved him . I think you owe his family an apology. I have just seen the Joker. What a performance. Heath completely dominates the film and I do beleive he deserves an oscar for his talent as heshould have done for Brokeback. my children to view me as someone to look up to as a grounding force in their life. Heaths “untimely” and “tragic” death were brought about from a DRUGS OVERDOSE. Amy Winehouse for President? Pete Doherty for Nobel Peace Prize?

I can only hope that the author of this comment speaks from knowledge of the actual events leading to Heath’s death. I fear however, that the comments left here were nothing more than the ramblings of an ignorant idividual who must beleive that all the choices in his or her life have been the right ones, never making a mistake and never straying from the path of rigteousness. Bravo to you, a person who can hide behing the cloak of a computer I.P adress and take the time to disrespect a man who has passed to soon on a webpage that is in rememberance of him. Okk it is just an award buddy(but Heath deserves so much more than an award) and who are u to say that he did this purposely??i rele wonder where u have been lately and he isnt a fukkin junkie drug user he had severe insomnia and not so sure but i think depression. His brain was awake but his body was tired.he probably wasnt thinking when he mixedd the pills cuz of being so tired. He is also a selfless person he woulve done anything for his loved ones.OO and have u ever read headlines saying that he is snorting cocaine or shooting up heroine,, now he unlike the other celebs u have mentioned they r all proven druggies not Heath. u must have a wild imagination… my friend ,and lets see what he has done with his life that his child can know about: is that he did many good movies was a loving selfless person he grew up in australia and anyother personal things he did. GOD people like u piss meh off so fukkin bad cuz u write stupid shit like this without even knowing if what u r writing is true and this wonderful person died and ur talking shit wow thats pathetic READ A LITTLE!!!! and have some sympathy i am sure he didnt want to leave his daughter and family behind…
I rele wish Heath could see what this jack off wrote and give a piece of mind of his too him.
Srry Heath u dont deserve that bullshit lying from a guy who is talking out of his ass
I Love and miss u terribly Heath Ledger

You are anything but the truth.
You sit there in front of your computer refrencing Heath Ledger to AMY WINEHOUSE?
Heath was on prescription medication, which means a DOCTOR PRESCRIBED those so called “junkie drugs.” The Joker(2008), Im Not There(2007), and The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus(2009) are three movies Heath did right around the same time, non stop…and he needed medication to help his insomnia and also to probably keep him sane with all the pressure on him, which is by far reasonable.
Three major productions at the same time…I’d like to see you handle that.
Oh and by the way prescription pills and Heroin (refrencing to Amy Winehouse) are two total different things.
Your right, he doesnt deserve that Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, because he did not support, he stole the show therefor should get an Oscar for Best Actor of the Year.
And as for his daughter, she has a father who without a doubt is the most amazing actor in the world, who has captivated millions of fans around THE WORLD, who was one of the select few celebritys who didnt get caught using illegal drugs and partying but a man who got caught taking his little girl out everywhere with him, he was a wonderful man who loved to please people and thats a lot to look up to.
How about you take a stab at the Doctors around the world who continuously to prescribe medication that kills the patients, just so they can make a few extra dollars.
And this is a FAN SITE…A TRIBUTE TO HEATH.
Nobody..not one person on this WHOLE WEBSITE cares about you or your negative comments, they dont even belong here.
You truely are a F*CKING IDIOT! -

I am so sad that I didn’t know of him before the tragedy. But I love Heath Ledger to death and watching the movies he was in makes me even more sad that such an outstanding person had there life cut short. I wish I could of met him, which would probably not happen.. but still. All he was trying to do it use that medicine to keep him awake (figurativly speaking) from all the pressure that people have put on him. God bless you Heath, you will not be forgotten. -thoughts from a 12 year old..

I knew I always liked him but never knew he would one day be in a role that I would consider my favorite. I now have him up there with Depp and Day-Lewis. Johnny is my favorite but Heath has made his way up there for sure with this performance. I almost can’t stop thinking about how awesome it was. R.I.P. Heath

The fact that you are so quick to judge a person based on an ACCIDENTAL drug overdose. I live in NY and had the pleasure of knowing Heath briefly. He was a nice man, a nice friend, and a GREAT father. He was constantly making sure that Matilda would want for nothing. I find it funny that so many people are trying to judge him because he couldn’t sleep and took some extra sleeping pills. It’s not like the man was doing heroin or snorting coke in front of his daughter. I can name at least 10 rock-n-roll fathers who have done things like that in front of their children.

To all of those who view Heath as a drug user or addict and dosen’t deserve an award or respect, don’t talk unless you were in his situation. You didn’t know him personally, you were never around him, so don’t judge because you are all ignorant.
Rest in peace Heath.

Posted: Aug 3rd, 2008 at 11:47 am43Reply to this comment. Also, I was a longtime fan of Heath Ledger.
I ABSOLUTLY LOVED his performance in The Dark Knight. HONESTLY the best movie I have seen in my life.
It was truly astounding how versatile he is in his roles.
I loved Brokeback Mountain and the Four Feathers, and when I first saw him in grade six in A Knight’s Tale.
I basically loved most of his movies like Casa Nova, and the Patriot and 10 Things I Hate about You. I could go on and on.I have always been interested in acting, but after seeing his role in the Joker I am seriously considering taking up acting.
Uknown to Heath, he is my inspiration.

After watching Heath Ledgers performance in Brokeback mountain I knew that he was going to become a great actor. Then I recently watched his performance as The Joker in Dark Knight and it really moved me. It changed my way of thinking somehow and it made me different in a way. I began to wonder how extremely into the character you would have to be to play it that well. Watching Heath ledger transform himself into the greatest villain now known is amazing…truly amazing. He has become my icon and like so many others, my idol. I send my condolences to his family and for all those close to him, I feel that a true and real person has been lost. The way I saw him on the big screen was so different compared to his past films, I have to admit that was a big change in character, even for us viewers who paid attention closely to him like I did. The Joker was another personality, played perfectly, it stuck to me as well.
I miss him, and I always think about what would have become of such a great actor. For all of those who care about Heath ledger and his great roles sign the petition and show your support.
I Love Heath <3 -

I guarantee you that Heath has many, many more fans and what that little pea brained idiot said isn’t worth a hill of beans. Heath Ledger is a beautiful person, inside and out. God broke the mold when he created Heath. We as Americans are so fortunate to have been able to see Heath Ledger’s stellar performances in each of his movies. He was handsome, giving, thoughtful, compassionate, intelligent, and loved his family dearly. If Heath would have lived a long time, he would have been the next Marlon Brando. My son and I were talking about Heath Ledger being the “new James Bond” when Daniel Craig decides to move on!!! Wow, but we know God never makes a mistake. We thank God for the time that we had Heath on this earth. May God continue to bless his family.

Why are you hating on a website dedicated to the memory of someone? And why not reward an amazing performance with an oscar? I don’t see why you have a problem.
That being said I never really like him, but now that he’s dead I feel sorry for always teasing my sister about how lame he was…
Anyway, my prayers go out to him and his family.
Also, I’m sure you’ve never been addicted to drugs, but it’s just that–an addiction. He couldn’t have just dropped his habits. Regardless, it’s rude of you to assume things about him. And drugs are designed to ruin people, his death isn’t his fault.

Posted: Aug 14th, 2008 at 6:47 am61Reply to this comment. In responding to “the truth”,and you are far from it,. Were it not Heath we were speaking about, it could be ANYONE young or old, your disrespectful and rude response is shameful. First off,the mistakes made in the pharmaceutical and medical practices today are scary.!! I have worked in pharmacy for 11 years now, and the mistakes, when they are made, and they are,are not usually life threatening thankfully.. When something does happen to someone, often times it is not just the pharmacies fault, but the Doc as well..Not to bash anyone please let me explain..Think about this, We, collectively, see a new Doc for EVERYTHING that is wrong with us. You go first to your PCP, they cant really help with your particular ailment, SO, they then send you to Doc#2 who specializes in your ailment. The PCP may have prescribed one drug or 2,perhaps for help in tiding you over with your ailment if necessary, until you can see Doc #2 who is the specialist. You go to Doc# 2, find out whats wrong, OR maybe they are not quite sure, AND they want to send you perhaps to Doc #3. Well, Doc #2 may well prescribe something or other, and you, like a dutiful patient, go and have ALL these ’scripts filled, and you follow the directions on the label too. What is scary is, NEITHER of these Docs knows what each other have prescribed, unless YOU TELL THEM! AND now the possible interactions of all of these drugs you now will be taking may very well be HARMFUL to YOU!! !!Its because we assume our Doc wouldn’t write a script that’ll harm us right? Please ,if you dont know about any of the drugs you are taking please, ASK at the pharmacist !! They are NOT EVER too busy to speak to you!! If they are, go to another pharmacy . These days you need to do your homework and research what drugs they want you to put into your body, and what they do for you,and can do to you!.Be a knowledgeable patient! When I heard about Heath, who is my daughters age, I was saddened by yet another young talented person gone.No it wasnt that he was just an actor, and a known name, he could have been an engineer an attorney a carpenter, any young person. People do die everyday, just as he did,and they same way unfortunately. Upon hearing more of the story,he is gone by mistake as well.. Heath, who was taking very commonly prescribed anti anxiety and depression meds, and they together are ok for the most part,BUT every individual is different. But not knowing, you start adding this drug to that, and then painkillers, which are also very commonly prescribed today. But why would the average person know what drug does what, and what drug will and can kill you combined with other drugs. Drugs you may take everyday!!!..As said, Painkillers and antidepressants are 2 of the most prescribed drugs out there for us today, and many/most do not mix well if taken together.. If you are taking any meds on a daily basis, prescribed by your PCP and or your specialist, BE AN INFORMED PATIENT!! Double check your meds too on picking them up at the pharmacy,. Look at the pills before you leave , and if they are a regular drug you take and they dont look the same as to what you have been taking all along, ASK !! They may be a new brand of generic tab by a new company and they all have there own colours, sizes, and shapes for the same drug..Double.check.Ask the pharmacist, they are never to busy to answer questions.Ask if any of the meds you are on, may have an interaction with each other, and take as needed meds, such as painkillers. Heath didnt know that either and thats what breaks my heart not only for his fans, but especially but for his parents, his family his child,.So You, The Truth, can keep your rude remarks to yourself, and I hope I have informed someone out there today, about what goes on and please be an informed patient you do have that right..

Hey, heres a great idea. Just because many more will mourn Heath’s passing than your own someday is not an excuse to tarnish this site with your opinions. Some things should be left unsaid if you do not agree with the majority. You have every right to have an opinion but at least be intelligent about how you share it. Any award that Heath may be awarded is not based on the choices he made in his personal life, and I am not saying that he made a wrong choice, I am simply saying that to withold an award that is based on a performance for the reasons you have given is ignorant and unintelligent. The Performance he gave is worthy of every award it may receive and the tradgedy of Heaths early departure from this place is exactly that….tragic. The world has lost a talent, a friend has lost a friend and most of all, a child has lost a father. Stay way from this site if you wish to cast personal opinions of a negative manner, this is not the place for it…. R.I.P Buddy, I will miss you- Donavan Lost
