Posted: Jul 16th, 2008 at 11:59 pm3Reply to this comment. As a qualified nurse of 8 years, I disagree with your comment Morgan! The contra-indications of the anti-anxiety medication he was on include, scratching, restlessness, and actually in some cases can make anxiety worse!!! That is why the drug is unavailable in the UK and many other countries whose regulations on drug strength and testing are more stringent than the US! A reputable doctor would and should have guided his choices of medication. As Liz so rightly said, all overdoses are accidental, and truly tragic whether i be a celebrity or Joe Bloggs on the street!

Posted: Jul 18th, 2008 at 3:09 am6Reply to this comment. Not all characteristics of an anxious person can be traced back to heroine or some other substance abuse. The fact that he had been on the “wagon” for such a long period of time can attribute to his tendency to be anxious. My personal opinion (and it is just that, an opinion) is that he was not comfortable doing interviews, it certainly cannot be the same as being in a film. Most people in a one on one interview are nervous and jittery.
Speculating on what happened to cause the end of such a beautiful and talented person is not only harmful to his family, even moreso to the child left behind, it is moronic. Only Health and the good lord know why it ended so soon. Take a little advice, Morgan if you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all. Leave the rest of us to mourn a very talented, hardworking man, not the celebrity but the MAN with a family that will miss him for all time! -

People (actors or not) have many pressures in life and whether those seem important or not to others, they always mean the world to the person who has them. Medication - antidepressants, ani-anxiety, etc.etc. is always dangerous. Whatever the circumstances, all deaths are tragic, as I believe everyone has great potential to be great. He seemed to be a great father, and it’s a shame that his little girl will never trully know him. Although I’m sure she’ll have a father figure in her life, this will forever leave something missing in her life.

I was devistated when I heard about the accident. I was leaving my b-ball practice when I heard. You were by far my favorite actor. I was so excited to see the new batman movie, especially when I heard you played the role of the Joker. And after I saw the movie, I have to say that it was the best performance I have seen. And this was a great performance to be remembered by.
WE LOVE YOU !!!!

Posted: Aug 18th, 2008 at 8:11 am17Reply to this comment.I think that we should remember that Heath Ledger was an actor, and a very good one at that. His performance in The Dark Knight will forever be one the best villian portrayals in movie history, I don’t think anyone could ever top it. I have been a fan of Heath’s since I saw him The Patriot and the quality of his work only improved over the years. His death is such an incredible loss to Hollywood and to all of us who truly lon my loved watching him on the screen. Whether he did drugs or not isn’t even relevant anymore. I believe his death was a tragic accident and its so sad to think that his little girl will never know her daddy. They way I look at it is, that we got an all too brief glimpse of an extrodinary talent. He was a star that shone so brightly and now that light has gone out. It brings tears to my eyes that we will never get to see all the wonderful roles he could have played with a brilliance only he possessed. The Joker will live on and on and so will all the other characters he created, like “Danny” in the “Candy”. Talk about brilliant, just watch that performance. We all need to remember him with a smile and let him rest in peace. I miss you Heath, but I know you are in a much better place now. I’ll always be a fan and your sweet face will live on in your movies that is forever your legacy.

Posted: Dec 17th, 2008 at 9:37 am19Reply to this comment.Just watched the Black Knight, and, to me it is obvious that the Heath was a victim of anti-depressants-just like Brittini Spears, Anna Nicole and her son. When are the doctors and pharmaceutical companies going to be stopped in pushing thes on us-all evidence is staring us in the face that they cause more problems than do good. At what cost are we going to stop them-Heath, and Anna Nicole and her son were a very large cost, and, these are just celebrities-there are so many more of us regular people anti-depressants have destroyed. Heath should get an award for doing the job he did on this show, especially in spite of the doctors prescription anti-depressants. He fully deserves it!
